Doxycycline
Doxycycline is prescribed for patients diagnosed with one of the wide range of infections caused by bacteria, including pneumonia and other infections of the respiratory tract, Lyme disease, acne, urinary tract infections and infections of the genital system, as well as for people exposed to anthrax. Doxycycline is very well handled by the absolute majority of people taking it, but some side effects are still possible. You don’t need to worry too much about the following mild side effects that will most probably disappear on their own: vaginal itching, vomiting, mild nausea, sores inside your mouth, diarrhea, swelling in the rectal area, swollen tongue, stomach upset, vaginal discharge, and trouble swallowing. Make sure your health care provider is aware of the fact you are taking any of the following prescription or over-the-counter medications no matter if you purchased them at a pharmacy or online: carbamazepine, penicillin, anticoagulants, phenytoin, antacids, vitamins, and phenobarbital. Taking doxycycline should be reported to your surgeon, even if you are to have some minor surgery.
